Trump’s Treason

Trump  must be impeached immediately. His attempted coup has failed. We have heard him float suggestions will declare martial law. We must make sure that we short circuit Trump’s attempts to destroy democracy.

Unlike Trump’s unfounded claims of voter fraud which were not supported by any evidence evidence of Trump’s muyoltiple crimes are in plain site and fixed in hard proof. 

Trump has egged on his supporters to be violent and has refused to condem their actions even when called upon by fellow republicans.

Trump must be impeached immediately before he is can create more damage. Did you see some of the damage caused by Trump’s rioters where the went through desks,  smashed windows, smashed doors, removed Congressional papers from desks and threw them all around the offices?

Would you want Trump’s hand to have any control over the nuclear weapons or military where he could cause more damage and chaos not only here in the United States but around the world.

Covid Graph Showing Stark Difference Between Democratic & Republican State

This animated graphic shows the normalized covid cases in the states since June. Normaized means that it is showing the number of cases per 100,000 so we are comparing on an equal basis no matter what the population of the various states are. The June date was chosen because before then the US was ambushed by the virus, but by the June 8th date we knew what public safety measures could help control the spread.the spread of the COVID virus – Wearing masks and social distancing.

In the beginning of the pandemic the east coast cities of New York and New Jersey were hit hard because we have 3 large international airports in the area. Some of the largest airports in the country – LaGuardia International Airport , Kennedy International Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport.

Trump was telling everyone the virus was coming from China and the West coast airports closed to travelers from China. What he didn’t say was that travelers from China and Europe were still flying into east coast international airports while Trump banged on the China threat. He patted himself on the back for closing the door from China but left the door wide open for travel from China that went through Europe!

What this animated graphic show is in the beginning of the pandemic the highest states were democratic states But the democratic states took heed to what the medical experts, scientists and their Democratic officials were saying about the actions they could take to slow the spread – wearing masks and social distancing.

It was hard work, often people and businesses chafted at the restrictions

but it brought the infection rates down. Meanwhile, Trump was lying to United States citizens telling them the virus was a hoax and would disappear magically while Bob Woodward has the president on tape saying he knows the virus is going to be really bad.

Trump knew the virus was going to be really bad why didn’t he prepare the nation with adequate PPE and testing. Because he did not care about the American people and how many might die. All Trump cared about was keeping the stock market up which he saw as the only indicator he valued of his success. ‘

Meanwhile in the midwest Republican governors kept echoing Trumps claims the virus was a hoax, dismissed wearing masks or any of the other measures experts were suggesting to control the virus

In those midwest states, people followed Trump’s lead and their governors’ lead – they did not wear masks or social distance. The only thing they were demanding was that the states “open up.” Echoing the demands of Trump and the Republican leaders.

Predictably Covid started rising in those states.

How sad it was to read the article in the Washington Post from the South Dakota nurse who said she was treating patients who were denying the existance of Covid up to their deaths. They kept sayinging this can’t be happening. It’s not real.”

We know why they were saying it’s not real – because that’s  what president Trump told them in multiple statements. That’s what their Republican governors kept telling them – it’s a hoax – its not real.

Have the lies from these government officials caused the death of someone you loved – your mother – your father – a sibling or someone ele they dismissed as having underlying conditions?

They were all loved human being who deserved a chance to live. They did not deserve to die to serve the needs of a narcissistic president who only cared about himself or republican governors who only cared about their careers.

Republicans Are Coming For Your Health Care

Republicans are coming for the Health care coverage that is currently protecting the health of millions of Americans with the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act provides millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, cancer and the long term effects of Covid19.

It’s obvious from the rushed hearing to confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett for a lifetime  appointment to the Supreme Court that this takes precidence over all of the needs and wishes of the American people. The American people have spoken and overwhelmingly said that this should wait for the election on Novemeber 3rd so the American public and the president would have a chance to have their voices heard.

Many of the Republican senators at this hearing attended the Rose Garden announcement of Barett’s nomination that turned out to be a superspreader of Covid-19, infecting the president, cabinet members, republican donors and many others.

Yet in their rush to hold this hearing they would not even take the time out to be tested for Covid-19! They are sitting in a closed room for hours each day. They could be continuing to spread Covid-19 to other members in the hearing, staff, office and cleaning personel and others.

They refuse to say, like the president, when the last time they tested negative was. The White House refuses to implement a comprehensive testing and contact tracing program that would allow them to know who was infected, who was in contact with infected people and both know who was infected and help control new infections. Testing which shows the genomic variations as Covid passes from one person to another would show you how the virus traveled from person to person and pehaps save hundreds or even thousands of lives that will be lost. But the White House refuses to do comprehensive contract tracing.

A justice, once they put on their black judicial  robes and take on their role as justice are supposed to be able to just decide on the basis of the law and put all political, personal or religious biases aside

However Justice Barrett seems unable to put aside her political biases. Certainly Justice Barrett should have been at the Rose Garden announcement of her appointment.

But her political biases caused her to violate one of the most important roles of a mother – to protect her children. She knowingly brought all of her childern to the Rose Garden ceremoney where people were sitting close together,  hugging each other, and not wearing masks. She knowingly brought her children into a dangeous environment where they were exposed to Covid-19.

Scientific research has shown that young children can be very efficient spreaders of Covid19, spreading the disease to many others although the children themselves might not show symptoms  or be asymptomatic.

We know by her own admission that Judge Barrett had Covid during the summer but “got over it.” The question is was she tested? Did her test show she was negative? Were all of her children tested? Did they all test negative?

Being a Justice requires you to separate your beliefs so that you don’t allow a bias to infect your judgement.

Bringing her children to the Rose Garden ceremony which proved to be a Covid superspreader event was a huge lapse in Judge Barrett’s duty to protect her children. It shows her inability to put her political beliefs aside  and is just another example of why Judge Barrett is unsuited to put on the robes of a Supreme Court Justice.

Millions of American’s Will Lose Their Health Coverage With Trump’s Pick

Millions of Americans will lose their health coverage with any of Trump’s choices for Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement.

Millions of American citizens depend upon the coverage for preexisting conditions.

Millions of Americans depend upon the coverage of their children until the reach the age of 26.

Trump and many republican attorney generals are in court right now trying to take away these protections under the Affordable Care Act.

Trump and the Republicans have already tried eight times and failed to cancel and remove the Affordable Care Act that so many American citizens have come to depend upon.

When they failed that they tried to chip away at the protections and provisions it provided.

One of those protections was that all insurance plans the companies offered had to provide coverage that met minimum standards.

All of the Conservative choices that Trump has suggested as a replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg are opposed to some of the protections the Affordable Care Act gives Americans.

It is almost assured that if Trump gets his choice for Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement millions of Americans will lose their health coverage.

Trump and the Republicans have worked to pack the Supreme Court with conservative judges and if Trump

 gets his pick again the court will have six conservative judges opposed to the Affordable Care Act and the protections millions of americans have come to depend upon and only three liberal leaning judges.

The Republicans have been promising for eight years they would replace it with a better plan but have yet to come up with anything.

As Trump made clear at a televised town hall meeting last week when questioned by both the interviewer and American citizens who were concerned about their health care and asked the president questions they still don’t have a plan. All Americans have is Trumps empty promise that he has a beautiful replacment plan ready. But when questioned repeatedly could provide no specifics.
